Not particularly well known amongst Erwin C. Dietrich's fans, "Die Madchenhandler" has some historical importance in that it was one of the first films to deal with the theme of women in cages. By right it can therefore be considered as belonging to that exploitation sub-genre known as 'women in prison'. It is internationally known by the title "White Slavers". The Swiss king of softcore Dietrich directs with competence the usual array of precocious young women and zealous men.
