Alana Blaire_s in the newsroom with all the details.Eila, starting Thursday, all incoming flights to the US will now be subject to new security screening measures. Passengers on Air France, Cathay Pacific, EgyptAir, Emirates, and Lufthansa will be screened with new interview questions. Some airlines will conduct them in-person at check-in counters, while others will hand out questionnaires. It_s a move that_s expected to affect 325-thousand passengers on 21-hundred flights daily. Travellers are being told to expect extra delays and longer lines. So much for flying the friendly skies Meanwhile the NAACP has issued a warning of its own. The organization is advising black travellers to avoid flying with American Airlines The organization says it_s noticed a pattern of disturbing incidents reported by African-American passengers, citing four examples where a black person was forced to give up their seat or removed from flights. American Airlines says it does not tolerate discrimination of any kind, and has reached out to the civil rights agency for a meeting. And it appears American opinions are shifting when it comes to athlete anthem protests. A new poll from HBO shows that 51-percent of the country believes that pro sports leagues should NOT require athletes to stand for The Star-Spangled Banner. That_s a big change from September of last year, when the same poll had just 43-percent of Americans feeling that way. President Trump wants the NFL to say You_re fired to players that don_t stand for the anthem. But most of the country no longer feels the same way. We_ll be right back.

During his election campaign last year, he had to fight off rumors of offshore banking activity AND a story that he was having a gay affair Iceland has become the first country to legalize equal pay between men and women The law was actually passed last summer but came into effect on New Year_s Day. It requires companies of 25 people or more to show the government proof that women are being paid as much as men for the same work. Businesses that don_t, will face fines. The tiny North Atlantic nation is aiming to erase the gender pay gap by 2022. Cedar Bayou, Texas has recorded an incredible 51-POINT-8-8 INCHES of rain due to Hurricane Harvey That_s not just a record for Texas, but for the entire continental U.S. And if you haven_t done the math, that_s OVER FOUR FEET As the National Weather Service pointed out in a tweet, so much rain has fallen, they actually had to change their color charts just to properly indicate it Wherever there_s people in trouble, there_ll be people trying to take advantage The Texas attorney general_s office has reportedly received hundreds of complaints about price gouging Stories include a store charging a HUNDRED DOLLARS for a case of water, and some gas stations charging as much as TEN DOLLARS per gallon Of course, under Texas law, price gougers can face twenty thousand dollar fines, which can rise to a QUARTER OF A MILLION if the victim_s a senior citizen And a sociology professor from the University of Tampa has been FIRED after blaming the GOP for the disaster. He tweeted, I don_t believe in instant karma but this kinda feels like it for Texas. Hopefully this will help them realize the GOP doesn_t care about them.
