The judge also noted that a solicitation of assault in exchange for money is NOT protected speech But don_t worry, folks, I_m sure Shkreli will do just fine in prison The impact of Hurricane Irma will continue to land most squarely on Florida, but the ripple effect will touch us all. For instance, Florida_s citrus industry has been particularly devastated. According to officials, it_s estimated that there_s a 50 to 70 percent crop loss in South Florida. That_s terrible for the farmers, plus given that Florida routinely grows about half of America_s orange juice, I think we all might feel freshly squeezed for awhile. People say it_s sexist, and others simply can_t believe the idea made it through test groups. It_s pulled in more than half a BILLION dollars in tax revenue from its recreational marijuana industry Retail sales of pot in Colorado started in January 2014. And that_s because the financial crisis caused people to panic and try to withdraw their investments Madoff_s scam affected more than 35-thousand people to the tune of 6.5 billion in losses. 4 billion dollars has been recovered and will start being paid out later this year. As for Madoff? He_s serving a 150-year prison term If there_s ONE word that comes to mind when we think of France, it_s... macho? Nevertheless, French President Emmanuel Macron wants to crack down on the country_s macho culture and keep men from harassing women His government is setting up a new committee that will impose fines on street harassment, like asking for a woman_s number. Northern California_s famous wine country is now in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons FIFTEEN wildfires spurred on by strong winds and dry conditions are devastating the area. Over FIFTEEN HUNDRED buildings have been destroyed and more than TWENTY THOUSAND people have had to be evacuated California_s Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency in eight counties, and efforts to contain the wildfires are ongoing. The War On Coal Is Over This is what the head of the US Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt, said as he announced that the Trump Administration is getting rid of the Obama administration_s Clean Power Plan. Under the plan, states were expected to reduce their carbon emissions by 32 percent relative to 2005 levels by 2030. Pruitt, who has famously cast doubt on climate change, said the Clean Power Plan was an overreach. It_s a good thing Dove_s a soap, because it always seems to be in hot water Dove has apologized for a body wash ad that showed a black woman peeling off her shirt and turning into a white woman Though the idea seems to be that Dove is for everyone, that is NOT what the internet took away from it The outrage came fast and furious, with a second wave coming for Dove_s apology Seems their statement that the ad missed the mark ITSELF missed the mark So, long story short, Carli, it looks like our plan to turn into each other will have to waitOr we can do it off-camera and no one but us will ever know...
