Alice Joana Goncalves
Performance and visual artist. Alice was born in Coimbra but raised in Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain range in Portugal.
It is difficult to separate my art from my own life. My own life feeds my art to the point where both feed off each other synergistically – they are the one and the same. My body thus becomes the artwork, fragmented both in time and space and at the same time the victim and the perpetrator of the immanent tension caused by its physical presence.
I always work based on an emotion or sensorial experience belongs human nature, the final result of the work is like a raw emotion
