Isabella_s starting us off in the Naked Newsroom with a couple of important updates including the latest on the Egypt Air crash and more jail time for Oscar Pistorius. Elise Oscar Pistorius became famous as the first amputee sprinter in the Olympics but for years now we_ve mostly been talking about the South African_s murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Well another chapter in that saga has been written. A judge just sentenced Pistorius to six years in jail. He had earlier been convicted of manslaughter and given five years but a higher court overturned that ruling and replaced it with a murder conviction. The minimum prison sentence for murder in South Africa is generally 15 years but the judge cited extenuating circumstances for handing down the lesser sentence. More information has emerged on the EgyptAir flight that crashed into the Mediterranean Sea in May. Sources close to the investigation have said that the cockpit voice recorder captured attempts by the pilots to put out a fire onboard. This lines up with indications from the flight data recorder that there had been smoke within the plane as well as recovered wreckage displaying signs of high temperature damage. The May 19th crash killed all 66 people aboard the flight and raised questions of whether terrorism could have been behind the tragedy. And a new study has determined that the U.S. has more recoverable oil reserves than any other country on earth. They estimate that the U.S. has 264 billion barrels of oil ahead of Russia at 256 and Saudi Arabia at 212. But before we all start throwing oil parties over half of America_s remaining oil reserves are in unconventional shale oil which is still relatively expensive to produce. TOTAL global oil reserves sit at around 2-point-1 trillion barrels. It SOUNDS like a lot Elise but oil producers pump out about 30 billion barrels of oil a year so...So the possibility that we could run out of oil in our lifetime is real gotcha Thanks for the updates Isabella. And thanks to the ruling of a high court in China Apple will not be the only company able to use the term _iPhone_ in the Asian country. Apple brought the trademark dispute against a leather goods company who filed to use the term in China in 2007 the year the iPhone first hit the market. Apple has been pursuing this case since 2012. The court ruled that Apple had failed to make ITS iPhone sufficiently familiar to the public when the leather company registered the name. Here_s the story. Not only did the report find that psychiatric drug use was that common turns out it_s even more common among certain groups Age seems to be the biggest factor but it wasn_t the only one In terms of race white people had a usage rate of over 20 percent compared to black Hispanic and Asian adults who all had a rate below ten Women were also nearly twice as likely to be filling prescriptions as men. And get this over 80 percent of people using these medications said they had been using them for a long period of time even though most of these medications are meant for short term use. SO what_s the most popular psychiatric drug in the US? Zoloft For as long as anyone can remember Michigan has been the heart of the automotive industry so it_s no surprise they should be at the forefront of driverless technology The state recently passed a series of bills that will allow self-driving cars to be tested on public roads WITHOUT a driver...or even a steering wheel Kind of scary but the cars will still have to comply with federal safety standards and hopefully they won_t get drunk or turn on their human masters Bill Gates has long been one of the world_s biggest philanthropists and he_s at it again The tech billionaire will be spearheading the Breakthrough Energy Ventures fund which will quote finance emerging energy breakthroughs that can deliver affordable and reliable zero carbon emissions. Well the hotly anticipated Rogue One the newest installment in the Star Wars franchise is out in theaters and Madison has our review of it right now in Naked At The MoviesRogue One: A Star Wars Story may be a one-off but it tells a story that will be very familiar to fans of the iconic franchise In fact the plot is largely summed up in the scroll at the start of the first Star Wars movie But with THIS one we_re treated to all the glorious details including a whole new hero Oscar nominee Felicity Jones stars as Jyn Erso the rebel soldier responsible for capturing those Death Star plans She follows Daisy Ridley as the latest leading lady in a franchise that_s suddenly all about the Girl Power Or Girl Force if you will And it was an opportunity not lost on the talented actress While all the Star Wars movies have dealt with multiple characters and interconnected storylines this is really at its heart a war movie. And that_s why even though we_ve seen plenty of battles in this far-away galaxy this feels like the closest we_ve gotten to the troops The impressive ensemble cast includes Forest Whitaker Mads Mikkelsen and Diego Luna as Cassian Andor. But the actor whose performance people are really psyched about is Alan Tudyk... even though we never see his face He plays the droid K-2SO using performance capture technology and this character is almost guaranteed to be the breakout star-slash-hottest selling toy K-2SO is basically C3PO_s meaner funnier cousin There_s something really magical about the Star Wars franchise especially if you got introduced to it at the right age. And after the trainwreck of the prequels it_s great to see Star Wars staying on track AND providing much-needed kickass heroines to boot Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is in theaters now. Authorities say to the tune of 180 MILLION dollars. It_s not the sexiest of contraband but police in eastern China have uncovered a huge criminal operation making of all things FAKE JELLYFISH Jellyfish is considered a delicacy in China. Mohamed had died in a car accident in 2014. The mix-up was only revealed when his wife recently called in to a local TV program about missing relatives. Her doctors now think she may have lost her memory in the crash.
