Tatiana and I get along great, which is incredible given that my Russian is quite limited. By the way, the changing rooms at Nasty Gal are a trip. Clever use of one-way glass. Gloria Paquette is a stoner. She has a health condition and marijuana helps .... yada, yada, yada. Look, the truth is many people like how getting high feels. Is it escapism? Yeah, but so is drinking alcohol, so is recreational sex, so is music, so are books, so is getting all worked up about athletes throwing around a ball and trying to tackle one another. People like a bunch of different and often pointless things. I do enjoy getting high every now and then, but I also realize that it comes with a price, at least for me. I become less productive, more prone to mood swings, etc. So I keep it to a minimum. Gloria says she is not able to function without her weed. She smokes wax or dabs which are much more potent than simply smoking the marijuana flower, hence the sinister-looking apparatus. It also requires the use of a butane torch, not shown here. At first, even I was taken aback at the sight.

Went on a hike near the Hollywood sign with Isla Brown. Isla is filled with delight when she gets to tease the camera. Living in a city like LA can wear on you. There are millions of people around you, doing exactly what you are doing trying to survive and have a bit of fun before biting the big one. When other Angelenos become annoyances rather than beings that I sympathize with, I get outside for some vitamin E. The beach, a trail, a park I owe a lot of my remaining sanity to these places.

Description:
Tristan Berrimore was staying at her agency_s model house when I photographed her. A model house is where agencies put up girls who are temporarily visiting LA to work gigs in the adult industry. Generally, they house several girls at a time and guys are not allowed. Luckily, this agency trusted me enough to photograph Tristan there. When I arrived, Tristan did not have a stitch of clothing on and it was immediately clear that she was not bashful. But then again, adult performers rarely are. I can_t remember if these denim shorts were just a joke of sorts or if Tristan actually wore them on occasion. I_m guessing the former. Elsie, the grumpy kitty shown here, was abandoned at the model house when her owner left LA.

Aubrey Snow is captured here in her natural habitat, sort of. She recently relocated from Northern California to Phoenix with some close friends. It quickly became apparent that Aubrey is very comfortable at home in casual wear. She demonstrates her flexy glute trick, not quite sure what else to call it, for the video camera. Turns out Aubrey learned the move when she was 16 and caught other girls doing it on YouTube. She explained that it is not a good idea to do the flexing for long, otherwise you will get a cramp.
