We_ve been following the tragic tale of Samsung_s Galaxy Note 7 ever since the stories AND the phones started blowing up, and now Sadie_s got the latest development to lead off today_s news. Thanks Eila, Samsung has long claimed that batteries were responsible for the phones catching fire, and now we know their full investigations have reached the same conclusionBut weren_t there batteries from two different manufacturers that were causing problems? That seems pretty unluckyI know, and some people are skeptical about the findings BUT, it seems they were quite thorough AND had outside analysis too. Here_s the full story Eila. In a fifty-minute presentation, Samsung laid out what went wrong with their Note 7s. After an investigation that included 700 of their own researchers testing 200 THOUSAND devices, as well as analysis by three independent firms, they_ve traced the problem back to the batteries. Seems that some had a design flaw which bent the electrodes, while others lacked sufficient insulation material Overall, problems with the Note 7 forced Samsung to recall over 3 MILLION units, and the whole affair is expected to cost the company over 5 BILLION dollars Diamonds may be forever, but the charges for stealing them last a pretty long time too Seven people were recently arrested for a massive diamond heist that took place in Amsterdam back in 2005 In February of that year, armed robbers held up a KLM armored car in a high-security part of a Dutch airport and made off with diamonds valued at over 70 MILLION While some of the gems were found shortly after the heist, more than 40 MILLION dollars_ worth remain unaccounted for It_s a sad story, but at least there_s a silver lining and also some hope Italian emergency crews working to find survivors at an avalanche-buried hotel have successfully rescued three puppies The white sheepdog pups had somehow managed to stay alive for days buried under literally tons of snow and rubble Besides the fact everyone loves puppies, it_s a sign that there could be more survivors Don_t go away

And there_s a reason why scientists prefer the term _climate change_ over _global warming._ While the Earth is undeniably getting hotter, the term also covers weird weather...like snow in the United Arab Emirates Temperatures in the Gulf country got down to 23 degrees and it has been blanketed in four inches of snow. If they go ahead, these would be separate series in a shared universe. The books are set in the present... but a present where an alien virus that either kills you, deforms you, or gives you superpowers, struck Manhattan in 1946 J.K. Simmons is an Oscar winner, but he_s not passing up the opportunity to join a TV cult classic. Simmons has signed on to appear in the Veronica Mars revival on Hulu. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, more than five point two dollars was spent on this election cycle, far and away the most ever spent on a midterm election To put that in context, that_s a thirty five percent increase over the 2014 cycle.
