Two Israeli men and an American accomplice have been charged with carrying out one of the largest cyber-attacks in US history. Targets included financial giants like JPMorgan and Fidelity, as well as The Wall Street Journal. The hack was orchestrated between 2012 and the summer of 2015, and exposed the personal details of more than a hundred million customers. As part of the scam the men would contact the owners of the compromised accounts to sell them stocks at inflated prices. Get ready folks, record low interest rates COULD be coming to an end. The US Federal Reserve said Tuesday that there was a strong case to raise rates next month IF the economy continues to improve. Interest rates have been near zero since the financial crisis began in 2008. The most recent employment report surpassed even the most ambitious expectations and as a result, the unemployment rate dropped to 5 percent. And Wednesday marks the biggest online shopping event in the world. Chinese consumers are celebrating Singles Day - their equivalent to US Black Friday. Alphabet_s BIGGEST gain came from advertising, with revenue from those annoying pay per click ads up a whopping 31 percent. And US sales of legal marijuana are at an all time HIGH Purchases of government-approved cannabis are up 17 percent, bringing in a record 5 point 5 BILLION dollars in 2015. Adult use sales-as in NOT for medical purposes - saw the biggest growth, rising 184 PERCENT. Currently 4 states allow recreational weed purchases. Another SEVEN are expected to vote on it in 2016. Id be much less frustrated about this if it wasnt for the fact that this EXACT SAME thing has been popping up on Facebook three times a year, for YEARS. Its been debunked over and over. And its not just this one. Theres Share this and Bill Gates will send you a hundred dollars. Fake. And All private messages will be made public to promote honesty. Fake. Oh, and EVERYTHING on The Onion is fake. And the fact I have to SAY that makes me want to scream. Its not like this phenomenon is NEW, either.
