The Eiffel Tower is about to get an unwelcome and EXPENSIVE new addition The French government is building an eight-foot, bulletproof, glass wall around the famous tourist attraction to protect it from terrorist attacks The project will cost an estimated 20 million dollars. Officials say the wall must be built because the terror threat in Paris remains high. Naturally locals aren_t thrilled about it. Critics say the wall won_t just be a physical barrier, but a psychological one as well CNN has been forced off the air in Venezuela Authorities there accuse the news network of spreading propaganda. This after CNN released a report that claimed the Venezuelan embassy in Iraq was involved in passport fraud. According to CNN_s year-long investigation, Venezuelan passports were being sold to potential terrorist suspects in Iraq. As a result, Venezuela_s National Telecom authority has suspended all CNN broadcasts, accusing the channel of trying to undermine the country_s peace and stability And the space tourism race is heating up. Russia has thrown its hat into the ring by announcing it will be selling commercial tickets into space starting next year Russian company KosmoKurs is aiming to compete with Richard Branson_s Virgin Galactic and Elon Musk_s SpaceX ventures. According to the company a ticket for a trip into orbit will cost about 250-thousand dollars. Up to six people will be able to travel aboard their resusable aircraft, which will spend 15 minutes in space. KosmoKurs hopes to beat the competition by getting up there sooner than anyone else. De Niro plays the title role, a recent widower who wants to relive his youth before it_s too late. That_s where grandson Jason comes in. It_s the classic odd couple match-up, but about TEN TIMES filthier As the movie progresses, we discover that Grandpa_s crude approach is really about living life to the fullest. And although his grandson can be uptight, he_s a reminder that cheap thrills are no match for friends and family. If you_ve seen Meet the Parents then you know De Niro can do funny, but can he do gross-out comedy? There are some definite cringe-worthy moments but the jokes come so fast and loose that by the time it_s over, you_ll wish YOU had a grandparent that cool too. Dirty Grandpa is in theaters now. Out on Blu-ray this week, Everest is the true life story of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster. On an already overcrowded trail, two separate teams of climbers get caught up in a surprise storm. The movie charts their dramatic efforts to survive in one of the most inhospitable locations on the planet. This one is worth a watch for the vertigo-inducing cinematography alone. Also out on Blu-ray is Straight Outta Compton. It_s a story of survival too, but this one starts out on the mean streets of Los Angeles. The biopic covers the rise and demise of pioneering rap legends NWA. Their music gave a voice to a group of people who had never had one before, and helped to grow a sound that dominates modern music today. You don_t have to be a rap fan to appreciate this one. There_s a lot of controversy surrounding this movie, from lawsuits about how certain people were portrayed to an Oscar snub, but all that aside, Straight Outta Compton is pure entertainment. Especially in Manhattan, and that_s partly why a bold new plan has been unveiled to extend the borough 500 feet INTO the East River The proposal has been dubbed Seaport City, and could create two entirely new city blocks. But along with the added real estate, it could also double as a levee to protect from the type of flooding that was seen during Hurricane Sandy. Similar approaches have already been used in flood-prone regions of Japan, Singapore, and the Netherlands. It_s the massive hole in Siberia that has scientists scratching their heads Located in a remote part of Russia_s Yamal Peninsula, the crater measures more than 260 feet in diameter and 230 feet deep. No one_s quite sure HOW the hole was formed, but the leading theory is that a mixture of gases trapped underground exploded, popping the earth like a champagne cork. As for me? DEFINITELY ALIENS. And is the tattoo craze finally over? Experts say tattoo removal procedures have shot up 440-percent in the past decade, raking in an estimated 75-point-5 million dollars in the process A tough job market and relationship break-ups are considered the top two reasons for removing ink. Her doctors now think she may have lost her memory in the crash. Considering the epic diagnosis fail they made the FIRST time around, it might be a good idea to get a second opinion Most of us would do ANYTHING for our loved ones-well, hopefully anything EXCEPT this Police in Minnesota recently picked up 32-year-old Erica Stang for suspicion of driving under the influence. Jon Stewart has reached a 4-year deal with HBO that will see him bring his unique spin on politics to the cable network. The contract comes just in time for the run-up to the 2016 election. But unlike his gig on The Daily Show, Stewart_s content will be streamed digitally, and will be exclusive to HBO Now, HBO Go, and other platforms. He_ll start by producing what HBO calls timely short-form digital content. The short vids will let Stewart comment on current events and have them uploaded the same day. Mr. Stewart will make his return to a device near you, early next year. The Walking Dead_s Norman Reedus, aka motorcycle badass Daryl Dixon, is getting an AMC show of his own Ride With Norman Reedus will see the star travel to different motorcycle hotspots around the US. The show will celebrate the country_s best collectors, mechanics, and craftsmen, according to AMC. Reedus will get a 6 episode run for the first season - that is when he ISN_T busy killing zombies. AMC just renewed The Walking Dead for a seventh season. Jenna Jameson_s getting back in front of the cameras, but probably not in the way you_re hoping. The former porn star will be the focus of a new reality series about her conversion to Judaism. Jenna_s was born Catholic, but had a change of faith following her engagement to renowned Israeli diamond dealer Lior Bitton. Sorry fellas, but Bitton says there will be NO adult content on the show. The pair will be followed around by a crew from an Israeli TV station, and for better or for worse, Jenna_s comparing the show to Keeping Up With the Kardashians. It was only a matter of time - Vice Media has announced plans to launch its very own cable channel. The edgy Brooklyn-based news service calls the channel the first step in a global push to have networks around the world. For now they_re calling it Viceland, and it will be available to 70 million American homes. Oscar-winning director Spike Jonze will be overseeing Viceland_s development so you know they_ll be in good hands Vice earned a 2.5 billion dollar valuation with its last round of fundraising, and CEO Shane Smith says profit and revenue have been doubling every year. And Star Trek fans are gearing up for a brand new adventure CBS is launching a totally new Star Trek series in January 2017. It_s being produced by Alex Kurtzman, who was behind the last two Star Trek blockbuster movies. If you want to see it you_ll probably have to pay up. For American audiences the first run of the series will be available EXCLUSIVELY through CBS All Access. The streaming service that costs 5 dollars a month, but it DOES get you access to ALL past Star Trek episodes and a whole bunch of other CBS content.
