Here_s the story. Normally, I_d run through some of his career highlights, but even a partial list would take up most of this segment. So I_ll just say he_s one of THE best golfers in history. He_s been out of the game for over a year, following back surgery, and golf fans are anxiously awaiting his return to the PGA Tour. So when Tiger announced on Friday that he_d compete in the Safeway Open in California, people were THRILLED. Ticket sales for the tournament instantly SPIKED, and local hotel rooms were snapped up. Then on Monday - just THREE DAYS later - he backed out. On his website, he said, quote, After a lot of soul searching and honest reflection, I know that I am not yet ready to play on the PGA Tour. Not ready, THREE DAYS AFTER committing to play, and presumably feeling ready. What the heck, Tiger? He did apologize and send his regrets. Well isn_t that just peachy Now if he could send CHECKS to the fans who paid good money for tickets, flights, and hotel rooms Look, if he was hurt, everyone would understand. But Tiger SPECIFICALLY said that his health was good and he felt strong. He just chickened out - my words. Nothing changed in those three days except his nerves and that_s not a good enough reason to screw over the fans who not only support him, but who PAID because he promised to be there. Tiger_s a multi-multi-millionaire, and his fans are a big reason WHY. He OWES it to them to follow through with his promises, barring injury. They don_t even care all that much if he wins or not - they just wanted to see him play. So for letting down your millions of fans and BAILING on the Safeway Open, so soon after confirming you_d be there, YOU, Tiger Woods, are our Boob Of The Week. Angie Heyward has the headlines including a new suit against Volkswagen, a controversial court case and a huge cocaine bust Here she is.The US Justice Department filed a lawsuit against Volkswagen for violating environmental laws. It_s been four months since the German car maker was caught with illegal software that could bypass emissions testing. The cars were found to be releasing up to 40 TIMES more greenhouse gases than US federal standards. If found guilty, Volkswagen could face a fine in the billions of dollars. More than 230 thousand people have signed a petition asking President Obama to pardon the star of a popular Netflix series. The 10-part documentary Making A Murderer was released in December and covers the trial and conviction of Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey for the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach. It centers around the Manitowoc County police department in Wisconsin and the alleged railroading of Steven Avery and his nephew into prison. He was already suing the county for a PREVIOUS false conviction that saw him go to prison for 18 years. He was only out of jail for a short time when he was arrested for the murder. Many believe that Avery was falsely accused and possibly even FRAMED for the crime. And Spanish police have scored a major drug bust with the seizure of more than three TONS of cocaine 12 people have been arrested so far, including 8 British citizens. The European country is a key entry point for illegal substances coming from South America. Unless WE decide to build a wall...Only time will tell, but right now The Donald has to feel VERY good about his shot at the Oval Office. A new national poll from Fox News shows that Donald Trump has pulled ahead of Hillary Clinton. The numbers show Trump would win the general election by a 45 to 42 percent margin. Their a little surprising, considering Trump is far behind Clinton when it comes to support from African American and female voters. However he makes up for the margin thanks to strong support from men, particularly white men. That said, it doesn_t sound like Americans are thrilled with either candidate. Two-thirds think Clinton is dishonest, and more than half think Trump lacks strong moral values. US lawmakers are bringing the hammer down on Chinese steel imports. The Commerce Department has imposed import taxes of up to 522-percent on steel made in the Asian country. China, which is by far the world_s largest steel producer, has been accused of dumping low-quality exports on other countries. A lack of demand has caused lowered prices and job losses in places like the US. The new tariff could increase tensions between China and the US, and could lead to retaliatory taxes being introduced by Beijing. And Homeland Security has a message for US airlines complaining about lengthy waits at airport security: get rid of your baggage fees Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson says that eliminating the fees will encourage travelers to check their bags, which will in turn mean less carry-on luggage to screen for TSA handlers. The airlines have basically responded by saying thanks but NO thanks They_re calling for the TSA to staff more workers at the country_s most heavily-trafficked airports. American Airlines has even hired its own contractors to help security agents speed things along. The issue_s only expected to get worse during the busy summer travel season. However, he did suggest that they exercise common sense, avoid crowded places and maintain an awareness of their surroundings. His comments come just a week after the terror attacks in Brussels. The top money man for Mexican drug lord Joaquin El Chapo Guzman has been detained by Mexican authorities Juan Manuel Alvarez was captured without incident in southern Mexico over the weekend. Authorities have described him as the main operator of money laundering for El Chapo_s drug cartel as well as other criminal organizations. Like his boss El Chapo, Alvarez now faces possible extradition to the US.And, California COULD have a 15 dollar minimum wage - by the year 2022 According to the Los Angeles Times, state lawmakers and union leaders have reportedly reached a tentative deal to gradually increase the current minimum from 10 dollars to 15, over the course of the next 6 years. Businesses with less than 25 employees would get an extra year to implement the rise. The proposal will still need to pass the state legislature and be signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown before it_s official. If it DOES go through Angie, California would have the HIGHEST minimum wage in the country6 years seems a little long to fully implement but I guess it_s better late then never. More bad news for popular restaurant chain, Chipotle. The company is now facing CRIMINAL charges over an outbreak of norovirus at a California location. State officials have opened an investigation into an August flare-up of the virus that affected dozens of customers and employees in Simi Valley. This comes after a recent outbreak in Boston that sickened more than a hundred college students last month and a rash of E. coli cases traced back to Chipotle restaurants in nine states. A Canadian energy company has filed a multi-billion dollar lawsuit against the US government over the cancellation of the Keystone pipeline. TransCanada says that President Barack Obama overstepped his power when he vetoed the proposed pipeline last November. At the time, the President said that the project would not make a long-term contribution to the US economy. In court papers filed under the North American Free Trade Agreement, TransCanada called the decision arbitrary and unjustified, and is asking for 15 billion in damages. And one of the most popular department stores in the US, is set to embark on a MAJOR restructuring. Because of disappointing sales last year, Macy_s has announced that they_ll be cutting 45 hundred jobs and closing 36 of it_s 850 stores. Investors have lost faith in the company_s direction, with shares losing 40 percent of their value in the last 12 months. The company hopes to tighten its belt to the tune of 400 million dollars annually. It_s not ALL bad news though, Peyton. Macy_s plans to shift focus to its online and mobile business which grew by 25 percent over the holiday period.That_s a good move because online is DEFINITELY where it_s at, thank you Isabella Now with a look ahead to her very first weather report of 2016, let_s say hello to Natasha Olenski. WSJ) the upcoming presidential elections?That_s right, Whitney The conventions may be over, but that just means the race for the white house is REALLY getting startedAnd of course there_s no shortage of headlines SWIRLING around these 2 candidates There_s so many it_s actually a challenge to choose which ones to report, but at the end of the day, elections come down to who has the most support, and there_s some BIG news on that front A new CNNORC poll shows that Hillary Clinton received a HUGE convention bounce She now leads Trump 52 to 43 percent in a two-way contest, and 45 to 37 percent when third party candidates are thrown in In that hypothetical two-person race, 44 percent said their mind was absolutely made up in favor of Clinton, versus just 36 percent certain to vote for Trump Also, the percentage of Hillary supporters now voting to support her rather than oppose Trump climbed from 48 to 58 percent Two U.S. cyber-security firms have concluded that Russian hackers were behind the breach affecting the Democratic National Committee. Both Fidelis Cybersecurity and ThreatConnect say the internet domains and registrants used in the hack, connect to a Russian group with ties to their intelligence services Contentious e-mails from the hack were released by Wikileaks right before the Democrats convention, and resulted in the resignation of their chairperson, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. The Clinton campaign have suggested that Russia is working to undermine her presidential run. The FBI is currently investigating the leak. And Donald Trump has signed a pledge to crack down on internet pornography. The pledge focuses mostly on better enforcement of internet obscenity laws but also supports the idea of a Presidential Commission to look at Internet porn_s harmful public health impact. The Clinton campaign has said that it supports the idea BEHIND the pledge but hasn_t actually signed anything. Now back to Whitney St. John for MORE Naked News. Thanks Nat.
