Letis get right to the news, with word of a MASSIVE bailout in the Eurozone thatis giving the Spanish government some breathing room. Natasha Olenski has been following this story, what can you tell us Nat? NO) Eila, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy (mah-ree-AH-noh rah-HOY) is ecstatic over a HUGE bailout that_s aimed at rescuing their banks.EA) What kind of money are we talking about here? NO) It was a HUNDRED billion Euros which converts to about 125 billion dollars. EA) Wow, and here he was saying just a couple of weeks ago that Spain didn_t need a bailout. That_s MASSIVENO) And unlike Greece_ there aren_t many strings attached to the money. So YEAH, he_s a very happy man EIla. Welcome to the newsroom everone. Finance ministers in the Eurozone have agreed to lend Spain up to 125-BILLION dollars to bail out their failing banks. The country has been struggling under the weight of bad property loans and 2 recessions in the past 3 years. But theyire not out of trouble just yet. Despite the bailout n which will help small businesses and the self-employed n Rajoy says this will still be a rough year, with the Spanish economy shrinking by 1-point-7 percent. Add this to the current unemployment rate of over TWENTY percent and you see why Spain_s got a long way to go. A massive wildfire in Northern Colorado has forced thousands from their homes. The blaze was initially measured at just 2 acres early in the weekend, but has since expanded to an estimated TWENTY thousand acres. The wildfire has firefighters scrambling, trying to get local residents out of danger. So far, no fatalities have been reported. At least 18 buildings have been destroyed or damaged.Things could get scandalous within the Obama administration, after the US Secretary of Commerce was cited for 2 alleged hit-and-runs in California. Authorities claim John Brysonis Lexus was responsible for hitting a Buick twice in San Gabriel. He is also accused of hitting a second car in the nearby city of Rosemead. Authorities allegedly later found Bryson unconscious behind the wheel of his car. He was taken to a local hospital, but was released soon afterward. Initial tests came out negative for alcohol, but further tests are forthcoming. His office is saying that he had a seizure but that_s all we know right now Eila. EA) Do we know if we was on government business at the time Nat? NO) No he wasn_t. And because of it, he didn_t have a security detail either. EA) Bet the Republicans are frothing at the mouth with this one. Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic has finally gotten a chance to tell his side of the story.After nearly 13 years on the run, Karadzic is facing 10 charges of genocide. This is your News off The Top.Karadzic is primarily standing trial for his role in the Srebenica Massacre - a widescale execution that killed 8-thousand Muslim men during the dissolution of Yugoslavia in the 1990_s. During his first day of defense, Karadzic denied the charges and claimed to be a tolerant man who had only wanted peace.He also said he did everything he could to reduce pain and human suffering during the war. He_s accused the media of exaggerating the number of casualties during the conflict. Authorities finally caught up with Karadzic in 2008, where he had been hiding in plain sight for the last 13 years. If convicted of the charges he could face life behind bars. More now from the fallout of last month_s terrorist attack on the American embassy in Libya. The assault killed a US ambassador and has become a hot topic in the US Presidential election. Republican candidate Mitt Romney has been quick to criticize Barack Obama_s foreign policies. On Monday, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton deflected some of the blame by taking responsibility for the incident. Clinton went on to say that she didn_t want to get into any blame game, and that the focus should now shift to tracking down the terrorists and bringing them to justice. Nevertheless, political experts believe the Benghazi attack will dog the Obama administration for the duration of the campaign. We_ll finish up this first look at the headlines with some surprising political news out of Israel. Parliament there has voted unanimously to dissolve itself and hold an early general election next January. That_s almost a year earlier than expected.Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for early elections last week, mainly because his government was unable to pass a key budget bill, which in turn would have resulted in unpopular spending cuts. Pundits expert a vicious 100-day election campaign, and consider Netanyahu an overwhelming favorite to stay in office. There_s a lot to like about Netanyahu_s leadership. Israel_s economy has remained strong and he_s taken tough stances on foreign policy. It all started with over 300 Police surrounding the home of an Al-Qaeda trained militant accused of the shooting deaths of seven people in Toulouse (too-LOOZ). Victoria Sinclair_s been following the latest developments and joins us now with the latest. VS) Hi Eila. Everyone can breathe a sigh of relief. After 32 hours, the siege of the five-story apartment building of Mohammed Merah (may-RAH) is finally over.EA) That_s VERY good news, but from what I understand, he did not go quietly.VS) Unfortunately that_s true as well. He told authorities he wanted to die with a weapon in his hands, and it looks like he got what he asked for. Here_s what we know right now. VS) Following stalled negotiations and hours of silence between the two sides, French police stormed the apartment of Mohammed Merah at 11:30 am local time Thursday. According to police reports, the 23-year old gunman emerged from the bathroom in a blaze of gunfire and jumped out the window, firing as he fell to his death. Two officers were wounded in the exchange. Earlier, Merah told negotiators that the killings were to avenge the deaths of Palestinian children, as well as France_s military presence in Afghanistan. Australian police are celebrating the capture of THAT country_s most-wanted fugitive. 38-year-old Malcolm Naden (NAY-din) had been on the run since being accused of murder back in 2005. A master outdoorsman, Naden repeatedly managed to elude authorities. But on Thursday police surrounded a campsite in New South Wales and finally got their man. He_s now been charged with murder, the attempted murder of a police officer during a previous manhunt, and two counts of indecent aggravated assault A disturbing scene is unfolding in the African nation of Mali (MA-lee). Rebel forces have appeared on state radio and TV, announcing that they have overthrown the government and assumed command of the country. This just hours after an assault on the presidential palace of Amadou Toumani Toure (ah-mah-DOO too-mah-NEE TOO-RAY). Sources say a number of government ministers have been arrested. The soldiers, who call themselves the Committee for the Re-establishment of Democracy and the Restoration of the State, issued a nationwide curfew and claimed that the country_s constitution had been suspended. Eila, President Toure has yet to release an official statement and his whereabouts at this time are unknown. That_s your first look at the news, back to you. EA) Hello one and all. I_m EA, and you_ve reached NAKED NEWS. A lot has happened over the course of the weekend, so let_s get right to the newsroom with Natasha Olenski. She_s been following the story of a brutal rampage in Afghanistan that has shocked the world. What_s going on Natasha?NO) It_s not a pretty picture Eila. 16 innocent Afghans are dead including women and children after an experienced US soldier went house to house on a shooting spree. EA) And do we know WHY this happened? NO) Not yet, many of the details are still unknown but what we DO know is that this was the soldiers 4th tour of duty and for some reason, he snapped. EA) And there are some serious ramifications aren_t there?NO) That_s right, president Hamid Karzai (haw-MIHD kahr-Z-EYE) has weighed in as have the Taliban. Here_s the latest Eila.NO) US officials are trying to find a motive after an American soldier went on a bloody house-to-house rampage, killing 16 civilians. Not much is known about the alleged shooter so far, other than the fact that he_s an Army Staff Sargeant who was apparently acting alone and turned himself in. The sergeant, in his mid-30s, had served several tours of duty in Iraq, but was new to Afghanistan. The Taliban took no time to call out American forces as sick-minded savages and swore revenge for the killings. Afghan president Hamid Karzai (haw-MIHD kahr-Z-EYE) called the massacre unforgivable. This comes just weeks after riots erupted over the burning of Korans by U.S. troops.In other news from the rergion, former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan (KOH-fee ANN-nan) says he_s optimistic that a peace deal can be made in Syria. This despite 2 days of talks with Syrian president Bashar al-Assad (bah-SHAHR ahl AH-sahd) that failed to yield any results. After the meetings, Annan said that finding a peace process would be difficult, but he held out hope. Complicating the issue in Syria is the fact that many opposition leaders refuse to open a dialogue with al-Assad, claiming he_s a war criminal. They also claim that any meetings that he agrees to are simply to buy time before any outside intervention takes place.Elsewhere in the Middle East, for a fourth straight day, Israeli airstrikes pounded the Gaza strip, injuring at least 40 people. Israel says they_re targeting rocket launching sites as more than one-hundred have been fired from Gaza since Friday. It_s the most intense fighting in the region in months, forcing 500-thousand Israelis into shelters. Schools have also been closed as a precaution Eila. EA) Between this, Syria, Iran and Afghanistan, that area of the world is pretty scary these days. NO) You_re right and the unfortunate part is that there doesn_t seem to be any end in site in ANY of the conflicts. Our top story today takes us to the Gulf Coast, where Hurricane Isaac may have been downgraded to a tropical storm, but it continues to wreak havoc in Louisiana.But not ONLY Louisiana. Isaac_s effects are being felt far and wide. Victoria Sinclair and Eila Adams have been tracking the storm and join us now with all the latest. Ladies?Thanks you two. US President Barack Obama inked major disaster orders for the states of Louisiana and Mississippi as Isaac continues its slow march across the Gulf Coast. Some areas were hit with as much as 20 inches of rain, and the storm is believed to have spawned at least three tornadoes that touched down in Alabama and Mississippi. At least 840-thousand people in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, and Arkansas have been left without power. Meanwhile, authorities were warning residents in small towns outside of New Orleans to leave their homes due to storm surges and flooding. National Guard troops are working around the clock to pull people out of flood waters and evacuated affected areas. An international conference in Iran turned ugly on Thursday when Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi called for an end to the violence in Syria. Speaking at the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran, Morsi called the government of Syrian leader Bashar al Assad an oppressive regime that had lost its legitimacy.In response, Syrian delegates walked out in the middle of Morsi_s speech. Morsi_s words likely angered not only Syrian officials, but Iranian representatives as well. Iran is one of Syria_s few remaining close allies. The soon-to-be released book of a Navy SEAL_s account of the death of Osama bin Laden seems to contradict key details of the incident in the official report. In No Easy Day, former SEAL Matt Bissonnette says that troops saw bin Laden at the top of a darkened hallway and opened fire before determining whether or not he was armed. The White House version of events claims that the SEALs opened fire after bin Laden had retreated into a bedroom, where he may have had a weapon. Despite being released near election time, Bissonnette claims the book has no political agenda, and is instead meant to commemorate the September eleventh attacks. Hallway, bedroom - I doubt I_m alone when I say I_m just happy they got him. I totally agree but he_s getting a lot of press and for those of you interested in learning more about the book, Bissonnette will be profiled on 60 Minutes this Sunday. PP) Here_s Victoria Sinclair with the story.VS) Ladies, a sudden rise in the theft of Tide liquid detergent has forced some department stores to put it under lock and key. Tide normally sells for between ten and twenty dollars, but you can get it for half that price on the streets Police in Virginia recently raided the home of a suspected cocaine dealer and found more liquid soap than drugs Meanwhile in Minnesota, police arrested a man and charged him with stealing 25-thousand dollars worth of the stuff over a fifteen month period Forget taking over the world, a Quebec man is demanding control of the entire solar system Sylvio Langevin (French pronunciation) filed a lawsuit demanding to be recognized as the planetary proprietor of Earth, the Sun, the other planets, and even a few moons for good measure. Sounds cute, but Quebec_s Superior Court judge was not impressed He_s declared Langevin to be a quarrelsome litigant, meaning he can_t file any more lawsuits without permission from a judge. Langevin_s filed 45 lawsuits since 2001, including a 1 billion dollar case against the federal government in 2009. Kazakhstan has filed an official complaint of their own after suffering yet another embarrassment at the hands of Borat When Maria Dymitrienko won a gold medal at the Arab Shooting Championships in Kuwait, she stood upon the podium and listened as the organizers accidentally played the mock anthem from Sasha Baron Cohen_s hit movie. In the Borat version, the anthem takes pride in Kazakhstan_s potassium exports and clean prostitutes. To her credit, Dymitrienko stood there and handled it well, and embarrassed event organizers re-did the medal ceremony when they heard about their mistake. Our top story today once again comes out of Syria.VS) That_s right. Russia_s involvement in the conflict there has been a major cause for concern amongst western powers.ES) And those fears will only be heightened with this latest development. Russia is sending two warships - and hundreds of marines - to the region. VS) This is your news off the top1. VS) Two Russian amphibious assault ships are en route for Syrian waters, and will be docking in the port of Tartus. Moscow says that the ships have been deployed to protect Russian personnel and equipment in the event of a full-scale evacuation. Syria is a major stronghold for Russia in the Middle East, and the port of Tartus is their only naval base outside of the former Soviet Union. ES) The Russian naval base there is believed to house very sophisticated electronic eavesdropping gadgets, and there are rumors that it could be attacked by Syrian rebels. The two ships could carry as many as 600 troops, which will be used to dismantle the base. However, other intelligence reports claim the ships will be carrying anti-aircraft missiles and other heavy artillery for the Syrian army.2. VS) In other news today, Myanmar human rights champion Aung San Suu Kyi (ONG SAN SOO CHEE) is making a landmark visit to the United Kingdom. The formerly imprisoned political activist and leader kicked things off with a debate at the London School of Economics. It_s her first trip to Europe since 1988.ES) Suu Kyi will spend 4 days in the UK, and her stay will include visits with the royal family and members of British parliament. It_s just part of a 2-week international tour that has sparked hopes of true political reform in Myanmar. Suu Kyi will also be making stops in Switzerland, France, and Norway. 3. VS) Canadian murder suspect Luka Magnotta has been extradited and returned home. The 29-year old, accused of killing a Montreal university student and putting his body parts in the mail, was the focus of an international manhunt until he was apprehended in Berlin on June fourth. Magnotta landed at Montreal_s Mirabel airport Monday night.ES) Canadian detectives planned to interrogate Magnotta ahead of his initial court appearance in Quebec. Canadian government officials thanked Germany for helping to catch the fugitive, and for his swift extradition home. When his case goes to court, it will be one of the most closely watched Canadian trials in years Vic. VS) No doubt about that. It_s comforting to know he_ll face justice here on Canadian soil.ES) Indeed. NO) It was a HUNDRED billion Euros which converts to about 125 billion dollars. EA) Wow, and here he was saying just a couple of weeks ago that Spain didn_t need a bailout. That_s MASSIVENO) And unlike Greece_ there aren_t many strings attached to the money. So YEAH, he_s a very happy man EIla. Welcome to the newsroom everone. Finance ministers in the Eurozone have agreed to lend Spain up to 125-BILLION dollars to bail out their failing banks. The country has been struggling under the weight of bad property loans and 2 recessions in the past 3 years. But theyire not out of trouble just yet. Despite the bailout n which will help small businesses and the self-employed n Rajoy says this will still be a rough year, with the Spanish economy shrinking by 1-point-7 percent. Add this to the current unemployment rate of over TWENTY percent and you see why Spain_s got a long way to go. A massive wildfire in Northern Colorado has forced thousands from their homes. The blaze was initially measured at just 2 acres early in the weekend, but has since expanded to an estimated TWENTY thousand acres. The wildfire has firefighters scrambling, trying to get local residents out of danger. So far, no fatalities have been reported. At least 18 buildings have been destroyed or damaged.Things could get scandalous within the Obama administration, after the US Secretary of Commerce was cited for 2 alleged hit-and-runs in California. Authorities claim John Brysonis Lexus was responsible for hitting a Buick twice in San Gabriel. He is also accused of hitting a second car in the nearby city of Rosemead. Authorities allegedly later found Bryson unconscious behind the wheel of his car. He was taken to a local hospital, but was released soon afterward. Initial tests came out negative for alcohol, but further tests are forthcoming. His office is saying that he had a seizure but that_s all we know right now Eila. Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic has finally gotten a chance to tell his side of the story.After nearly 13 years on the run, Karadzic is facing 10 charges of genocide. This is your News off The Top.Karadzic is primarily standing trial for his role in the Srebenica Massacre - a widescale execution that killed 8-thousand Muslim men during the dissolution of Yugoslavia in the 1990_s. During his first day of defense, Karadzic denied the charges and claimed to be a tolerant man who had only wanted peace.He also said he did everything he could to reduce pain and human suffering during the war. He_s accused the media of exaggerating the number of casualties during the conflict. Authorities finally caught up with Karadzic in 2008, where he had been hiding in plain sight for the last 13 years. If convicted of the charges he could face life behind bars. More now from the fallout of last month_s terrorist attack on the American embassy in Libya. The assault killed a US ambassador and has become a hot topic in the US Presidential election. Republican candidate Mitt Romney has been quick to criticize Barack Obama_s foreign policies. On Monday, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton deflected some of the blame by taking responsibility for the incident. Clinton went on to say that she didn_t want to get into any blame game, and that the focus should now shift to tracking down the terrorists and bringing them to justice. Nevertheless, political experts believe the Benghazi attack will dog the Obama administration for the duration of the campaign. We_ll finish up this first look at the headlines with some surprising political news out of Israel. Parliament there has voted unanimously to dissolve itself and hold an early general election next January. That_s almost a year earlier than expected.Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for early elections last week, mainly because his government was unable to pass a key budget bill, which in turn would have resulted in unpopular spending cuts. Pundits expert a vicious 100-day election campaign, and consider Netanyahu an overwhelming favorite to stay in office. There_s a lot to like about Netanyahu_s leadership. It all started with over 300 Police surrounding the home of an Al-Qaeda trained militant accused of the shooting deaths of seven people in Toulouse (too-LOOZ). Victoria Sinclair_s been following the latest developments and joins us now with the latest. VS) Hi Eila. Everyone can breathe a sigh of relief. After 32 hours, the siege of the five-story apartment building of Mohammed Merah (may-RAH) is finally over.EA) That_s VERY good news, but from what I understand, he did not go quietly.VS) Unfortunately that_s true as well. He told authorities he wanted to die with a weapon in his hands, and it looks like he got what he asked for. Here_s what we know right now. VS) Following stalled negotiations and hours of silence between the two sides, French police stormed the apartment of Mohammed Merah at 11:30 am local time Thursday. According to police reports, the 23-year old gunman emerged from the bathroom in a blaze of gunfire and jumped out the window, firing as he fell to his death. Two officers were wounded in the exchange. Earlier, Merah told negotiators that the killings were to avenge the deaths of Palestinian children, as well as France_s military presence in Afghanistan. Australian police are celebrating the capture of THAT country_s most-wanted fugitive. 38-year-old Malcolm Naden (NAY-din) had been on the run since being accused of murder back in 2005. A master outdoorsman, Naden repeatedly managed to elude authorities. But on Thursday police surrounded a campsite in New South Wales and finally got their man. He_s now been charged with murder, the attempted murder of a police officer during a previous manhunt, and two counts of indecent aggravated assault A disturbing scene is unfolding in the African nation of Mali (MA-lee). Rebel forces have appeared on state radio and TV, announcing that they have overthrown the government and assumed command of the country. This just hours after an assault on the presidential palace of Amadou Toumani Toure (ah-mah-DOO too-mah-NEE TOO-RAY). Sources say a number of government ministers have been arrested. The soldiers, who call themselves the Committee for the Re-establishment of Democracy and the Restoration of the State, issued a nationwide curfew and claimed that the country_s constitution had been suspended. She_s been following the story of a brutal rampage in Afghanistan that has shocked the world. What_s going on Natasha?NO) It_s not a pretty picture Eila. 16 innocent Afghans are dead including women and children after an experienced US soldier went house to house on a shooting spree. EA) And do we know WHY this happened? NO) Not yet, many of the details are still unknown but what we DO know is that this was the soldiers 4th tour of duty and for some reason, he snapped. EA) And there are some serious ramifications aren_t there?NO) That_s right, president Hamid Karzai (haw-MIHD kahr-Z-EYE) has weighed in as have the Taliban. Here_s the latest Eila.NO) US officials are trying to find a motive after an American soldier went on a bloody house-to-house rampage, killing 16 civilians. Not much is known about the alleged shooter so far, other than the fact that he_s an Army Staff Sargeant who was apparently acting alone and turned himself in. The sergeant, in his mid-30s, had served several tours of duty in Iraq, but was new to Afghanistan. The Taliban took no time to call out American forces as sick-minded savages and swore revenge for the killings. Afghan president Hamid Karzai (haw-MIHD kahr-Z-EYE) called the massacre unforgivable. This comes just weeks after riots erupted over the burning of Korans by U.S. troops.In other news from the rergion, former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan (KOH-fee ANN-nan) says he_s optimistic that a peace deal can be made in Syria. This despite 2 days of talks with Syrian president Bashar al-Assad (bah-SHAHR ahl AH-sahd) that failed to yield any results. After the meetings, Annan said that finding a peace process would be difficult, but he held out hope. Complicating the issue in Syria is the fact that many opposition leaders refuse to open a dialogue with al-Assad, claiming he_s a war criminal. They also claim that any meetings that he agrees to are simply to buy time before any outside intervention takes place.Elsewhere in the Middle East, for a fourth straight day, Israeli airstrikes pounded the Gaza strip, injuring at least 40 people. Israel says they_re targeting rocket launching sites as more than one-hundred have been fired from Gaza since Friday. It_s the most intense fighting in the region in months, forcing 500-thousand Israelis into shelters. Schools have also been closed as a precaution Eila. EA) Between this, Syria, Iran and Afghanistan, that area of the world is pretty scary these days. NO) You_re right and the unfortunate part is that there doesn_t seem to be any end in site in ANY of the conflicts. Our top story today takes us to the Gulf Coast, where Hurricane Isaac may have been downgraded to a tropical storm, but it continues to wreak havoc in Louisiana.But not ONLY Louisiana. Isaac_s effects are being felt far and wide. Victoria Sinclair and Eila Adams have been tracking the storm and join us now with all the latest. Ladies?Thanks you two. US President Barack Obama inked major disaster orders for the states of Louisiana and Mississippi as Isaac continues its slow march across the Gulf Coast. Some areas were hit with as much as 20 inches of rain, and the storm is believed to have spawned at least three tornadoes that touched down in Alabama and Mississippi. At least 840-thousand people in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, and Arkansas have been left without power. Meanwhile, authorities were warning residents in small towns outside of New Orleans to leave their homes due to storm surges and flooding. National Guard troops are working around the clock to pull people out of flood waters and evacuated affected areas. An international conference in Iran turned ugly on Thursday when Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi called for an end to the violence in Syria. Speaking at the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran, Morsi called the government of Syrian leader Bashar al Assad an oppressive regime that had lost its legitimacy.In response, Syrian delegates walked out in the middle of Morsi_s speech. Morsi_s words likely angered not only Syrian officials, but Iranian representatives as well. Iran is one of Syria_s few remaining close allies. The soon-to-be released book of a Navy SEAL_s account of the death of Osama bin Laden seems to contradict key details of the incident in the official report. In No Easy Day, former SEAL Matt Bissonnette says that troops saw bin Laden at the top of a darkened hallway and opened fire before determining whether or not he was armed. The White House version of events claims that the SEALs opened fire after bin Laden had retreated into a bedroom, where he may have had a weapon. Despite being released near election time, Bissonnette claims the book has no political agenda, and is instead meant to commemorate the September eleventh attacks. Hallway, bedroom - I doubt I_m alone when I say I_m just happy they got him. I totally agree but he_s getting a lot of press and for those of you interested in learning more about the book, Bissonnette will be profiled on 60 Minutes this Sunday. Sounds cute, but Quebec_s Superior Court judge was not impressed He_s declared Langevin to be a quarrelsome litigant, meaning he can_t file any more lawsuits without permission from a judge. Glad to have you all with us. Let_s get right to business Vic. Our top story today once again comes out of Syria.VS) That_s right. Russia_s involvement in the conflict there has been a major cause for concern amongst western powers.ES) And those fears will only be heightened with this latest development. Russia is sending two warships - and hundreds of marines - to the region. VS) This is your news off the top1. VS) Two Russian amphibious assault ships are en route for Syrian waters, and will be docking in the port of Tartus. Moscow says that the ships have been deployed to protect Russian personnel and equipment in the event of a full-scale evacuation. Syria is a major stronghold for Russia in the Middle East, and the port of Tartus is their only naval base outside of the former Soviet Union. ES) The Russian naval base there is believed to house very sophisticated electronic eavesdropping gadgets, and there are rumors that it could be attacked by Syrian rebels. The two ships could carry as many as 600 troops, which will be used to dismantle the base. However, other intelligence reports claim the ships will be carrying anti-aircraft missiles and other heavy artillery for the Syrian army.2. VS) In other news today, Myanmar human rights champion Aung San Suu Kyi (ONG SAN SOO CHEE) is making a landmark visit to the United Kingdom. The formerly imprisoned political activist and leader kicked things off with a debate at the London School of Economics. It_s her first trip to Europe since 1988.ES) Suu Kyi will spend 4 days in the UK, and her stay will include visits with the royal family and members of British parliament. It_s just part of a 2-week international tour that has sparked hopes of true political reform in Myanmar. Suu Kyi will also be making stops in Switzerland, France, and Norway. 3. VS) Canadian murder suspect Luka Magnotta has been extradited and returned home. The 29-year old, accused of killing a Montreal university student and putting his body parts in the mail, was the focus of an international manhunt until he was apprehended in Berlin on June fourth. Magnotta landed at Montreal_s Mirabel airport Monday night.ES) Canadian detectives planned to interrogate Magnotta ahead of his initial court appearance in Quebec. Canadian government officials thanked Germany for helping to catch the fugitive, and for his swift extradition home. When his case goes to court, it will be one of the most closely watched Canadian trials in years Vic. VS) No doubt about that. It_s comforting to know he_ll face justice here on Canadian soil.ES) Indeed.
